POST #4: “How does the implementation of the design elements or pending implementation of design elements affect your work?” Some things you might want to touch on: Your character development? The rehearsal process in general? Early designer’s sketches and design presentations?
Well to be completely honest, I am excited about the first rehearsal in Coger tonight, however, I am very interested in seeing if I can get my ghetto booty through the trap door. I think the set construction team was aware of this, but who knows. Also, what will be under the trap door? Will I have to enter and exit using a rope? Do they know I do not have much upper body strength? What will be awaiting me when I exit with the trap? A Ladder? 5 knives sticking straight up? A bouncy ball? A Pillow? Ohhh .... how dark trap door holes scare me!
And not to mention, I was underneath Coger a couple weeks back and I got completely freaked out. The thought of being under the stage frightens me. The Coger Phantom may take me away underneath to his liar. Of course we may fall in love, but he will have to wait because I have a show to do. Oh Coger phantom, how you distract me.
The implementation of design elements has a huge affect on the blocking because the set moves. What I love about mobile set peices is that it screams creativity!!! With knowing all the technical ideas in advance, I am able to create a character based on their ideas.

I have to admit that, aside from props, the impending techincal design aspects of a show don't really enter my mind until we actually get the set. Usually I'm too involved in the other people in the show, and maybe I should be a litle more conscious of other things that aren't there now but will be there in the future. But then, that would be getting in my head trying to pretend how something would feel etc...but then maybe I should just use my imagination...
