THE BALANCE--post #2--Geo

I am poor. No money from the family cause they are poor too. Therefore I have to work to pay rent, utilities, phone and other bills of necessity....I guess food too! At the same time I am a full time student with 18 credit hours (some in subjects I have no interest in). THANK GOD for the show. The show allows me time to step away from academic and working man Geo. I get to let loose with some viewpoint work and play.
It is very challenging to tackle everything. It's gotten to the point to where I don't call my family from back home as much. I have talked to my mother or sibling in over TWO WEEKS....and I'm close with my family. They are a part of my outlet. Let's be honest..theatre people are crazy...we drive each other nuts sometimes. With my family, they aren't into theatre. They are my vacation away from the fast paced theatre life! Don't get me wrong, I love this craft! But I need to find more time to call home. There simply isn't enough time in the day.
Sad, but true, the homework is piling up. Sometimes while I'm at work, at the library, I'll sneak time in to do some of it. But, after the second week in March a lot will clear up. I just hope that I can survive mid terms.

I understand about the money part. My family is taking a beating from the two weddings last year. It's really hard to find time to work! Also, I can related about family issues and not talking to them because of business. There is a lot going on back home and I feel wretched for not being there. Family is a very important aspect in my life. My hopes is to take the summer off and spend time with family before I enter the "big" world of theatre.
